I found Rise Mobility Harrogate through a Google search in desperation after my husband’s wheelchair malfunctioned. As my husband’s full time carer I was extremely distressed when the supplier of his wheelchair could not help with a temporary replacement.

I took my mam away for a few days and quickly realised that I needed a wheelchair. I found Rise via a quick internet search and rang them. As I’d rung before 9am I had to leave a message but soon got a phone call back off Carl. I explained I needed a wheelchair for 3 days and expected it to be expensive but the price was very reasonable indeed. Carl was very personable and helpful so I booked the chair.
Pick up was straight forward with a form to fill in with my details, payment made, some quick instructions and off I went.

Carl is helpful, polite, knowledgeable and, above all, not pushy. As part of his service, he delivered the mobility scooter and demonstrated assembly and disassembly and then supervised a test drive, having made clear that he wasn’t leaving until he was happy that it could be driven safely. We needed a rise and recline chair and stairlift fitting urgently, before bringing my mum home. We shopped around locally, but liked the quality and price of the chairs most of all, Carl’s helpful advice and knowledge of his products is first class. The chair we ordered was delivered the same week and is great.The stairlift was fitted in a day and the installer even vacuumed the stairs after finishing the install. I called into the showroom in Harrogate in May with a very specific list of needs which had to be met in a new bed for myself and my disabled husband in order to satisfy a range of health and safety issues raised by a local care agency.

Our requirements were anything but straightforward and included a rise and fall action amongst other things but I was sure of one thing- we didn’t want a hospital bed or anything that resembled one!

From that first visit we have experienced exemplary service from Carl. The bed we purchased was truly bespoke. There was no hard sell or trying to upsell additional features – in fact, he was more than happy to deduct features that would not be of benefit to my husband.

Carl spent time to ensure that the bed would meet our exact needs and came to our home for a site visit to make sure that the bed would fit – all before a sale was confirmed.

The bed was made and delivered within three weeks of ordering and although there were a few discrepancies between what was ordered and what was delivered (NOT the fault of Carl or Rise Furniture and Mobility) Carl jumped on these before we did and liaised with the manufacturers to ensure that the issues were resolved to our satisfaction.

We cannot recommend Carl and Rise Furniture and Mobility highly enough.

From start to finish he created solutions for our problems in a most professional manner to ensure that the finished product worked for us, worked for the care agency and best of all, looks nothing like a hospital bed!
